Hutchings' intent was to create an audio documentary, the Rattlebone being about the Border Scots border, that is Morris dancing tradition, while Ploughjack covers the considerably more obscure Molly dancing of eastern England. Ashley Stephen Hutchings, MBE born 26 January 1945 is an English bassist, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, band leader, writer and record producer. He was a founding member of three noteworthy English folk-rock bands: Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and The Albion Band. Hutchings has overseen numerous other projects, including records and live theatre, and has collaborated on film and television projects. Rattlebone and Ploughjack is a fabulously unusual album by Ashley Hutchings. This is one of a few Documentary Albums that he has recorded.
