Album

Watermark is the third solo studio album by Art Garfunkel, originally released in October 1977 on Columbia Records. The first single, Crying in My Sleep, failed to chart, but the follow-up, a version of What a Wonderful World featuring harmony vocals from Garfunkel's old partner Paul Simon and mutual friend James Taylor reached 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The songs Watermark and Paper Chase had previously been performed by Richard Harris on. Watermark - Art Garfunkel. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. The single and a revised version of the album then made the Top 40. But Watermark is still a Garfunkel-Sings-Webb album, except for one song. And the initial idea was a good one: Garfunkel handles Webb's wistful pop songs well, and he has made good choices from Webb's songbook, dating back to the '60s, though avoiding his big bits. The result is Garfunkel's most cohesive solo album. Songs in album Art Garfunkel - Watermark 1977. Art Garfunkel - Crying In My Sleep. Art Garfunkel - Marionette. Art Garfunkel - Shine It On Me. This is the original Dutch vinyl LP release which had the Jimmy Webb song "Fingerpaint," correctly listed in the tracks. CBS wanted a single, so the song was quickly pulled and replaced by the very out-of-place "(What a) Wonderful World" with Paul Simon and James Taylor. The credits above mention this song in the mixing credits but it doesn't appear here so that line doesn't apply and should be removed. Most frustrating: what haven't ANY of the CD reissues of this album simply put the song "Fingerpaint" back on, since vinyl's time limitation is not a factor? This remains a somewhat "lost" Garfunkel track, along with the 45-only full version of Tim Moore's "2nd Avenue."
