Mutant is the second studio album by Venezuelan electronic music producer Arca. It was released on 20 November 2015 via Mute. Mutant received widespread acclaim from contemporary music critics. For my 484th review, I discuss Arca's expanded approach on his sophomore release. But among that group was someone working on Kanye Wests 2013 album Yeezus, and Arca wound up contributing to four tracks, including Blood on the Leaves and Im in It. That same year, he also produced for FKA twigs, helping to create a futuristic pop that was simultaneously dense and spare and defined by its elusiveness.
