Anni-Frid Lyngstad is the eponymous compilation album by Anni-Frid Lyngstad, released by Emidisc in 1972, after Lyngstad ended her 5-year contract with EMI's Swedish division. All songs on this album are included in the EMI compilation album Frida 1967-1972. The same year in 1971 that Lyngstad had had her first Svensktoppen number one, Min Egen Stad, a Swedish language version of the Hep Stars track It's Nice To Be Back Again, she did not renew her contract with EMI, and was signed to Polar Music. Princess Anni-Frid, Countess of Plauen née Lyngstad born 15 November 1945, better known by her nickname Frida, is a Norwegian-Swedish singer, songwriter, and environmentalist. She is best known as one of the founding members and lead singers of the Swedish pop band ABBA. Born in Bjørkåsen Ballangen to a Norwegian mother and a German soldier father, she grew up in Torshälla, Sweden, and started her first solo career there, as a jazz singer in 1967, through a talent competition called New Faces. Frida ensam English: Frida Alone is the second studio album by Swedish singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad. It was produced by her then-fiancé, Benny Andersson, both members of the pop group ABBA, and was first released by Polar Music in 1975. It has since been re-released several times, most significantly in remastered form in 2005 with bonus tracks. The lead song was Frida's solo version of Fernando written and produced by Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. All lyrics are in Swedish. The album was a huge. Her father, Alfred Haase, was a young sergeant in the German Army who arrived in Ballangen in 1943 during World War II. Although he was already married, Haase met a pretty young Norwegian girl named Synni Lyngstad and wooed her with a bag of potatoes-a rare and valuable commodity in wartime Norway. Synni reciprocated with a gift of whale meat, and the pair struck up a relationship. Eventually Synni became pregnant, but after the war ended Haase left Norway before his daughter. Ensam, 2005.
