About this Album: The grand swell and floating poetry of César Francks works for organ have long given rise to descriptions such as musical incense, which focus on their numinous spiritual address, perhaps at the expense of French organ school formed in the first half of the 17th century. It progressed from the strict polyphonic music of Jean Titelouze c. 15631633 to a unique, richly ornamented style with its own characteristic forms that made full use of the French classical organ.
