Sound of Music is the second studio album by punk band the Adicts, released in November 1982 by Razor Records. It was re-released by Captain Oi Records in 2002 and by SOS Records in 2006, each with different bonus tracks. In 2002, Taang Records reissued the album, along with Smart Alex and bonus tracks, as The Collection. The same Sound of Music disc, with bonus tracks, was released separately in 2004. All songs written by Keith Warren and Pete Davison, except as noted. The soundtrack of the film The Sound of Music was released in 1965 by RCA Victor and is one of the most successful soundtrack albums in history, having sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. The soundtrack reached the number one position on the Billboard 200 that year in the United States, remained in the top ten for a record 109 weeks, from May 1, 1965 to July 16, 1967, and remained on the Billboard 200. The Sound of Music is a 1965 American musical drama film produced and directed by Robert Wise, and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, with Richard Haydn and Eleanor Parker. The film is an adaptation of the 1959 stage musical of the same name, composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II.
